32nd SEA Games: Kun Bokator Competition to Start This Afternoon

Kun Bokator competition at the 32nd SEA Games hosted by Cambodia will begin this afternoon at the Chroy Changvar International Convention and Exhibition Centre (Hall C) in Phnom Penh.

Participating countries includes host Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines and Indonesia.

There are 16 disciplines for Kun Bokator at the 32nd SEA Games: seven for individual and group performance and nine for fighting weight categories of 50-55-60-65 and 70 kilogrammes for men and of 45-50-55 and 60 kilogrammes for women.

For this afternoon, there will six sports events, including Men’s and Women’s Bokator Spirit Forum Single, Men’s and Women’s Bamboo Shield Form Single, and Men’s and Women’s Bare Hand Form Single.

Kun Bokator is one of the three identity sports included by Cambodia in the SEA Games 2023. The other two are Kun Khmer and Ouk Chaktrang (Chess).

Nine sports competitions are on today’s programme – Volleyball, Ju Jitsu, Football, Kun Bokator, Obstacle Race, Cricket, Ouk Chaktrang, Sailing, and Hockey.

A total of 36 sports and a demonstration sport (teqball) have been listed for the 32nd SEA Games and 13 for the 12th ASEAN Para Games.

Cambodia is hosting the 32nd SEA Games and the 12th ASEAN Para Games from May5 to 17, and from June 3 to 9, 2023 respectively, under the motto “Sport: Live in Peace”.
