Cambodia, the host country, won a total of 14 medals, of which a gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze, from the BA Sea Regional Junior Championship 2023.

The gold medal was grabbed by two U17 Cambodian badminton players – Loeung Malynich and Sok Somalita – in Women’s Doubles, after defeating their Timorese counterparts – Rihana Da Costa Oliveira and Maria Fatima Pinto Da Costa – 2-0 at the final held here at the Morodok Techo National Stadium this morning.

The BA Sea Regional Junior Championship 2023, taking place from Oct. 30 to Nov. 4, is attended by five countries, including Cambodia, Brunei, Laos, Myanmar, and Timor-Leste.

Each country has sent ten badminton athletes, under the age of Under 15 and 17 years old, to join the regional competition.

The five-day BA Sea Regional Junior Championship 2023 provides a good opportunity for Cambodian badminton athletes to sharpen their capacity for more international competitions.
