MISTI, TAFTAC Collaborate to Enhance Industrial Safety in Factories

The Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI), in collaboration with the Textile, Apparel, Footwear and Travel Goods Association of Cambodia (TAFTAC), hosted a workshop to enhance industrial safety in factories.

The event, held in Kampong Chhnang province on Aug. 14, brought together representatives from 20 factories, focusing on reinforcing labour practices and improving industrial safety standards across the industry.

According to MISTI, during the workshop, factory representatives learned to identify and mitigate potential hazards, as well as implement effective strategies for fire prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery to reduce workplace fire risks. They also discussed relevant regulations, standards, and compliance requirements related to labour and operational safety.

MISTI is collaborating with partners, including TAFTAC, to enhance industrial safety and compliance in major factory hubs like Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville, Battambang, Siem Reap, Kampong Cham, Bavet,
Svay Rieng, Kampong Chhnang, and Kandal provinces.
