Roads Around Ipoh To Close From Tomorrow For National Day Celebrations

IPOH, Roads around Ipoh will be closed and there will be diversions for five days starting from tomorrow due to the Perak state level 2024 National Day parade.

Ipoh district police chief ACP Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said the parade will be held in front of Ipoh City Hall along Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab here and the routes involved in the rehearsal, set to begin from 6.30 am tomorrow are Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab, Jalan St. John, Jalan S.P Seenivasagam, Jalan Sultan Yusuf, Jalan Dato Maharajalela, Jalan Dato Sagor, Jalan Tun Sambanthan, Jalan Sultan Iskandar Shah and Jalan Bandar Timah.

“The road in front of Ipoh City Hall will be closed on Wednesday and Friday for the full rehearsal of the parade from 8 am till it’s completed,’ he said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, the roads that will be used during National Day celebrations on Aug 31 are Padang Ipoh, Jalan Sultan Idris Shah, Jalan Sultan Yusuf, Jalan Lahat (Little India), Jalan Tan Sri Tajudin Ali, Bulatan Bahagia (Medan Kidd)
, Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab and Jalan S.P Seenivasagam, and road closures and diversions will begin at 6.30 am.

He advised motorists to plan their routes and journeys and to select alternative routes to avoid being stuck in traffic jams during the road closures and diversions.
