Committee on the Formulation of CTPF 2030 Convenes First Meeting


The first meeting of the Committee on the Formulation of Cambodia Trade Policy Framework Towards 2030 (CTPF 2030) was held here on Aug. 28 under the chairmanship of H.E. KEM Sithan, Permanent Secretary of State at? the Ministry of Commerce and the Committee’s Chairman.

According to the Ministry of Commerce, the meeting was aimed to review and approve in principle the concept notes of the six pillars of the CTPF 2030 as well as approve work schedule and composition of the working groups of each pillar under the leadership of the Ministry of Commerce, prior to consultation with inter-ministries and government agencies, development partners, and private sector.

The CTPF 2030 aims to formulate strategies and policy directions to address current and future trade challenges, in line with the Pentagonal Strategy Phase 1, especially for Cambodia to prepare for LDC graduation by 2029, the source pointed out.

It is also designed to stimulate and accelerate economic growth by improving business environment and trade
infrastructure, maintaining existing markets and improving market access, and promoting targeted sectors’ development, the ministry added.

The CTPF 2030 is planned to have six pillars: Integrating Trade into the Global Economy, Strengthening Trade Competitiveness in Global Markets, Promoting Inclusive and Sustainable Trade, Promoting and Developing Digital Trade, Targeted Sectors Development, and Preparing for LDC Graduation.
