Samdech Khuon Sudary Receives Outgoing Thai Ambassador

Samdech Moha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of Cambodia, received here on Sept. 4 outgoing Thai Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Cherdkiat Atthakor.

Samdech Khuon Sudary highly valued Thai Ambassador’s active efforts in nurturing and strengthening the long-standing bilateral relations and cooperation between Cambodia and Thailand.

These efforts have led to broader and deeper ties, including the exchange of visits by top leaders, and the promotion of trade, investment, education, culture, and people-to-people ties, elevating the relationship to a strategic partnership during his tenure, she said.

For his part, the outgoing Thai diplomat highlighted the significant improvements in tourism cooperation, expressing optimism about the ‘Two Kingdoms, One Destination’. He noted that Thai tourists stand as the first rank visitors to Cambodia, particularly to Siem Reap.

The Thai government has extended the duration of stay permits for Cambodian passport holders which also bene
fits those seeking medical treatment, he said.

H.E. Ambassador noted that the two countries will mark the 75th anniversary of these relations next year, which will be many meaningful events and activities to celebrate the anniversary.

On the occasion, Samdech Khuon Sudary conveyed her heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to H.E. Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the newly elected 31st Prime Minister of Thailand, and expressed hope that the relationship and cooperation between the two countries will continue to strengthen and develop for the benefit of their people.
