Six Cambodian table tennis coaches and athletes will join the WWT Youth Contender Vientiane to be held in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) from Sept. 18 to 21.

The update was shared by Mr. Heng Socheat, Deputy Secretary General of the Cambodian Table Tennis Federation (CTTF), at the CTTF’s headquarters in Phnom Penh recently.

This is the first time for Cambodian athletes to join the event to gain world-class experience and develop their capacity for big national and international sports events, including SEA Games, said the deputy secretary general.

He was optimistic that the Cambodian athletes will excel in the game and bring medals for the country because they had trained hard.

The tournament is expected to attract the participation of athletes from Asia, ASEAN, and Europe.

According to Mr. Heng Socheat, the six participating coaches and players include Mr. Gov X Eava, Mr. Chan Kimhenry, Ms. Chan Michelle Anita, Ms. Gov Sokunthida, Mr. Keng Kittikun, and Mr. Gov Panha Sambath.
