IOM Speaks Highly of Cambodia’s Efforts in Addressing Migrant Challenges

Cambodian Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Yentieng Puthirasmey received a courtesy call by Ms. Nellie GHUSAYNI, newly appointed Chief of Mission of IOM in Cambodia, at the ministry on Sept. 11 during which the latter presented the credentials on the appointment as chief of Mission of IOM in Cambodia.

Ms. Nellie GHUSAYNI informed H.E. Secretary of State on cooperation between IOM and Cambodia’s line ministries in promoting the safeguard of Cambodian migrants and combating human trafficking in Cambodia. She also expressed high appreciation on Cambodia’s efforts in addressing migrant challenges.

In response, H.E. Ms. Yentieng Puthirasmey congratulated Ms. Nellie on her appointment as the Chief of Mission of IOM in Cambodia. She expressed her appreciation to IOM for its support and assistance in protecting vulnerable Cambodian migrants living abroad and providing capacity building in Cambodia.

Finally, both sides reiterated their shared determination to
further enhance the closed cooperation between Cambodia and IOM.
