Sabah BN Must Boost Preparedness For State Polls – Bung Moktar

KOTA KINABALU, Sabah UMNO chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin has urged the machinery of UMNO and other Barisan Nasional (BN) components to further enhance their preparedness for the next Sabah state election.

He said they need to start making improvements as the 17th Sabah state election can be held anytime before the end of December next year.

“Although reports from inspections in each division show satisfactory grassroots readiness, it needs to be improved before the state election is held,” he said in a statement today.

In this regard, Bung Moktar, who is also an UMNO Supreme Council member, said efforts to update the number of UMNO members in each branch and polling district centre (PDM) in Sabah must be carried out immediately, including the number of ‘other voters’.

Additionally, he stated that committees at the PDM level should be established and updated earlier to ensure they can be fully mobilised for the state election.

Bung Moktar also urged all UMNO divisions in Sabah to continue implemen
ting programmes that engage with the grassroots, while assisting those in need and addressing development issues affecting the people so they can be raised with the relevant authorities.

“I hope the main wings – Wanita, Youth and Puteri – will work in tandem in organising programmes, practising a team-oriented work culture to ensure the party’s strength,” he said.
