Unionized workers of Renault Korea begin full-scale strike over wage dispute

Unionized workers of Renault Korea Motors Co., the South Korean unit of French auto group Renault S.A., began a full-scale strike Friday, as little progress was made in wage talks, company officials said.

The union of Renault Korea has been on a partial strike since Tuesday over the wage dispute.

It was unclear about how the full-scale strike would affect production at Renault Korea’s plant in the southeastern port city of Busan.

However, the company has dispatched some employees to the plant to prevent production lines from being fully suspended.

An official at Renault Korea said the company has kept the door open to negotiations with the union.
