Cambodia Extends Condolences to Vietnam over Typhoon Yagi Disaster

Samdech Moha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly (NA) of Cambodia has sent a message to H.E. Tran Thanh Man, Chairman of the Vietnamese NA, extending her condolences over the loss of lives due to Typhoon Yagi.

‘It is with a heavy heart that I learn of the recent disaster, Typhoon Yagi, which has brought immense sorrow and loss, claiming hundreds of lives and displacing many people. Our thoughts are with all those affected,’ she wrote in her message dated Sept. 13.

‘On behalf of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, I would like to express my deepest sympathies and most heartfelt condolences to you and the bereaved families who lost their loved ones in this disaster,’ she added.

‘We stand in solidarity with our Vietnamese brothers and sisters, hoping for a swift recovery and rebuilding process. May those who perished rest in peace, and may the injured have a speedy recovery,’ the Cambodian NA president said.

Yesterday, H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Acting President o
f the Senate of Cambodia, also sent a letter to H.E. Tran Thanh Man, expressing his deepest condolences and sympathy to the victims and their families and wished for the speedy recovery of those injured.

‘My thoughts and prayers are with the Vietnamese people during this difficult time,’ H.E. Prak Sokhonn concluded.

As of Sept. 12, post-typhoon floods and landslides in Vietnam have left close to 300 people either dead or missing, with 780 others injured.
