Two premises operating as private aesthetic medical and dental clinics here have been raided by the Pahang Health Department (JKN) for allegedly running illegal operations managed by unqualified practitioners.

Its director Datuk Dr Rusdi Abd Rahman said the raid, conducted yesterday in cooperation with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), followed public complaints and intelligence information over the past six months.

It was found that the illegal clinics were run by two women believed to be the owners and one employee, all in their 20s.

He said the illegal dental clinic operated from a residential premise, while the unregistered aesthetic medical clinic operated from a shop lot with one employee and had been in operation for the past two years.

‘We seized medical equipment and drugs worth an estimated RM50,000. They have no formal medical training, and it’s believed they learned everything through social media, with some having attended spa courses.

‘They registered with the Companies Commission of Malay
sia (SSM) as beauty centres and advertised their services on TikTok and Facebook,” he told a press conference here today.

Dr Rusdi added that no arrests have been made yet, but the department is currently preparing investigation papers on both cases, which will be submitted to the deputy public prosecutor soon for further action.

‘The public is advised to be cautious and not easily influenced by various advertisements or testimonials on social media,’ he added.
