Cambodian PM Congratulates 10th Anniversary of Belt and Road Initiative

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has expressed his congratulations to the 10th founding anniversary of China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

At a gathering with 24,000 workers and employees at Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone in Preah Sihanouk province this morning, Samdech Techo Hun Sen credited BRI for the national and social development of Cambodia.

“Morodok Techo National Stadium (the main venue for the SEA Games-ASEAN Para Games 2023), new airports, Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway, underwater fiber optic cable, thousands of kilometres of roads and bridges, etc. have been built with China’s support under BRI,” the Cambodian Premier pointed out.

On the occasion, the Cambodian Premier reiterated that BRI is in line with the Royal Government’s policy which supports all initiatives that serve peace and development, do not oppose any countries, and respect the ASEAN’s centrality.

BRI is a global infrastructure development strategy adopted by Chinese government in 2013 to invest in more than 150 countries and international organisations.
