JICA Reaffirms Support for Ministry of Interior

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has pledged to foster cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, particularly on good governance and road safety to better people’s living condition.

The reaffirmation was made by Mr. SANUI Kazumasa, newly appointed Chief Representative of JICA Cambodia Office in a meeting with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Samdech Krolahom Sar Kheng here in Phnom Penh on May 24.

Mr. SANUI Kazumasa recalled Samdech Krolahom Sar Kheng that so far, JICA has supported the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia in good governance, capacity development for local administration officials to enforce sub-national policy implementation.

JICA has also sent its policy advisors to support the Ministry of Interior on works related to the framework of decentralisation and deconcentration reforms and traffic accident data analysis plan to put forth policies and proper solutions for road safety, said the chief representative.

He thanked the leaders of the Ministry of Interior for their support to the JICA’s mission successfully.

Samdech Krolahom Sar Kheng thanked JICA for its commitment to continuing cooperation with the ministry and spoke highly of JICA’s contribution to human resource development, especially at sub-national level.
