Ministry Calls for High Vigilance of Possible Natural Phenomena

Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (MOWRAM) has appealed to the public to increase their vigilance of possible natural phenomena this week.

In a new weather forecast released this morning, the ministry warned of rainfall, from low to medium, along with thunder, lightning and gusts throughout the country from May 10 to 16, 2023.

For the temperature, during the said period, it would vary between 25 and 36 degrees Celsius for the central lowland areas, and from 24 to 36 for the highland areas, the source pointed out.

In the coastal regions, the ministry added, the temperature would be from 24 and 35 degrees Celsius.

In the second long-term weather forecast released by MOWRAM in late April, this year’s rainy season is expected to start in the second week of May, bringing from low to moderate rainfalls along with thunder, lightning, and gusts.

The 2023 rainy season would end in the first week of November, it underlined.

Yesterday, Cambodia celebrated the annual Royal Ploughing ceremony, which marks the beginning of the crop planting season in the country, in Kampong Svay district of Kampong Thom province under the royal presidency of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia.
