PM Hun Sen: The Rich and The Poor Cannot Be Separated in Society

Living in a society, the rich and the poor cannot be separated, reminded Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen while receiving at his residence in Takhmao town, Kandal province this morning a delegation of Cambodia Orkhna (tycoons) Association (COA) led by its President Neak Orkhna Ly Yong Phat.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also encouraged all tycoons to strengthen their solidarity and to work together to support social affairs and humanitarian activities, and to contribute with the Royal Government in socio-economic development and poverty alleviation.

Neak Orkhna Ly Yong Phat briefed Samdech Techo Hun Sen of COA’s activities, vision and mission. He also thanked the Prime Minister for agreeing to be the Honorary President of COA working under the technical governance of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), and for recognising COA as a partner of the Royal Government in promoting trade and investment in Cambodia.

In a special voice message last night, Samdech Techo Hun Sen re-appealed to his compatriots to put an end to any [verbal] attack on social media regarding the rich and the poor issue, which has been going viral on Facebook, to avoid social class conflict which would lead to serious social crisis.

“People are the nation’s foundation. Without people, there is no nation,” he underlined. “All the efforts of the Royal Government are to improve the people’s standard of living.”
