The Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) Malaysia, an autonomous, non-profit research organisation, needs to increase the number of research and conferences as well as publications that can generate income for the company, according to the Auditor-General's Report (LKAN) 2/2024. The A-G's Report said ISIS Malaysia also needs to make more detailed plans and monitor the implementation. The audit review for 2022 found a decrease of 20 per cent for research and 28.6 per cent for conferences compared to 2021, while for 2023, the number of conferences showed an increase of nine times (25.7 per cent) but the number of research still showed a downward trend by 13 times (65 per cent) compared to 2022. "The achievement of the number of research and conferences as a whole is less than satisfactory because the number of research shows a downward trend even though there was an increase in number of conferences,' said the report. "The downtrend in the number of research due to reduced demand and spo nsorship has affected ISIS Malaysia's reputation." However, the objective of establishing ISIS Malaysia to carry out research and present views to the government as well as to organise conferences at national and international levels has been achieved, and its corporate governance practices are good and financial position is stable. "The results of the research carried out by ISIS Malaysia are good because they have been used as input by the ministry or department that regulates," according to the report.
