According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the post-rainy season, in particular, sees a surge in activity. Mr. Lek Kimlin, Director of the Angkor Wat Tourism Agency, confirmed that between 50 and 60 couples visit Angkor Wat daily for photoshoots. Photographers work creatively from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., strategically utilising unique locations and natural lighting to transform the timeless stone scenery into a "heaven on earth" for their subjects.
The most popular settings for these romantic sessions include the majestic Western Causeway entrance, the solemn first gallery, the serene North and South libraries, and the iconic reflection pond area. Other favoured spots within the main temple are Kda Ben, the corners of the first enclosure, and the Northern Gate, also known as Kuh Ta Leuk.
The allure of the Angkor Archaeological Park extends beyond the main temple. Other historical sites, such as Angkor Thom, the Terrace of the Elephants, Preah Khan Temple, Neak Pean Temple, Banteay Kdei Temple, and Pre Rup Temple, are also highly favoured for their unique historical and romantic appeal.
The growing trend, according to the Angkor Wat Tourism Agency, is a powerful reflection of Cambodians' deep cultural pride and emotional connection to Angkor, a profound symbol of national identity.
