Australian PM Invites Cambodian PM to Attend ASEAN-Australia Special Summit in Melbourne Next Year

H.E. Kitti Tesaphibal Pundit Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has been invited to attend the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit by Prime Minister of Australia H.E. Anthony Albanese.

"I would like to take this opportunity to extend an invitation to you to attend the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit to be held in Melbourne from 4-6 March 2024, commemorating the 50th anniversary of Australia's Dialogue Partner status with ASEAN," said the Australian Premier in his congratulatory message to H.E. Kitti Tesaphibal Pundit.

"Australia is proud to be ASEAN's first Dialogue Partner and we are committed to deepening our engagement in the region, building on the foundations of the ASEAN-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. I look forward to hosting you and other ASEAN Leaders in Melbourne and to further strengthening this relationship," he underlined.

H.E. Anthony Albanese also extended his warm congratulations on H.E. Kitti Tesaphibal Pundit's appointment as Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and spoke highly of the relationship between both nations.

"Our countries have a long history of cooperation, with Australia supporting Cambodia's aspirations for peace, development, democracy and human rights. I look forward to our continued cooperation, including on important regional issues," he said.
