Phnom penh: The Cambodia-Thailand Joint Coordinating Task Force (JCTF) on Humanitarian Demining held its third virtual meeting today to further discuss the remaining content of the draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) of the JCTF.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the SOP has been prepared and drafted with a focus on respecting sovereignty and territorial integrity, while fostering mutual respect as neighboring countries. The discussions aim to finalize a comprehensive strategy for humanitarian demining operations that both nations can adhere to.
The first and second meetings were also conducted virtually, occurring on September 24, 2025, and October 9, respectively. These meetings mark an ongoing collaboration between Cambodia and Thailand to address the challenges of landmines and unexploded ordnance, which pose significant risks in the region.
