Phnom penh: The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MoLVT) and the World Bank (WB) have engaged in discussions concerning support for Cambodian returnees from Thailand, focusing on job placement and skills development.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the meeting occurred on October 28, with H.E. Heng Sour, Cambodian Minister of MoLVT, and Ms. Tania Meyer, WB Country Manager for Cambodia, participating. H.E. Heng Sour emphasized the importance of the World Bank's partnership in areas such as human capital, jobs, and skills, noting that the discussion aligns with the Royal Government of Cambodia's priorities on employment, labour market, and inclusive growth. He highlighted the structured approach used in recent partner briefings, which supports these priorities.
Ms. Tania Meyer expressed her appreciation for the Royal Government of Cambodia's dedication to human resource development and reaffirmed the World Bank's commitment to supporting Cambodia's workforce development and competitiveness enhancement initiatives. Both parties agreed to continue their partnership and further strengthen cooperation for the socio-economic development of Cambodia.
