Cambodia and Saudi Arabia plan to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on training and information exchange cooperation.
The plan was revealed in a meeting between H.E. Neth Pheaktra, Minister of Information, and H.E. Mohammed Ismaeil A. Dahlwy, Hanoi-based Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, here in Phnom Penh on Nov. 16.
H.E. Neth Pheaktra briefed H.E. Mohammed Ismaeil A. Dahlwy that the Ministry of Information has started circulating news in Arabic since 2022 via its news agency – the Agence Kampuchea Presse (AKP) – and App, with an aim to promote Cambodia's potential investment and tourism to Arabic-speaking countries.
Through the information in Arabic, Arabic-speaking nations will also know Cambodia's tradition, culture, religion, and the latest developments in the country.
H.E. Mohammed Ismaeil A. Dahlwy supported the minister's initiative for more cooperation on information exchange between the two information ministries and encouraged the signing of an MoU soon.
He also appreciated the Royal Government of Cambodia's policy on religious harmonisation, which is a good model not only in the ASEAN region but also in the world.
