Cambodia to Request for IOC Membership

Cambodia has been collecting 75 countries to join the Kun Khmer International Federation (KIF) so that it is eligible to request membership in the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The update was shared by H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports and Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC), adding that KIF now has 54 member countries.

Cambodia needs to strengthen its international appearance and reputation to introduce Kun Khmer, or Khmer martial arts, to the world, said H.E. Vath Chamroun.

The secretary of state called on a collective effort to make a push for the sustainable preservation of Kun Khmer.

KIF will prepare a code of ethics for Kun Khmer, which is a regulation to strengthen Kun Khmer management among its member countries and promote confidence for countries to join the federation, he added.
