Wuhan: Top education officials from China and ASEAN member states convened in Wuhan, China, for a dialogue focused on bolstering educational cooperation.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, attended the meeting and outlined Cambodia’s advancements in education under the Royal Government’s Pentagonal Strategy – Phase 1, particularly in leveraging smart technology.
H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron underscored Cambodia’s commitment to digital education through several key policies and initiatives. The Digital Education Policy and Strategy is actively incorporating both human and artificial intelligence within Cambodia’s education sector. This effort is being achieved through the implementation of strategies and policies related to educational technology, STEM education, and various frameworks designed to improve learning outcomes for students.
Emphasizing empowerment through technology, Cambodia remains dedicated to ensuring that technology serves humanity by prioritizing equity, empowerment, and environmental considerations within digital education. A significant focus is placed on teacher empowerment, with ongoing professional development of educators in digital skills and innovative teaching methodologies.
Strengthening China-ASEAN cooperation involves the establishment of a China-ASEAN Education Centre, the development of common regional frameworks and standards, the sharing of digital educational resources, and the provision of financial and technical support to enhance educational exchange and transformation across the region.
