Siem Reap: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Civil Service, H.E. Hun Many, has issued a heartfelt appeal to all Cambodians, urging them to donate blood to save lives.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, in a Facebook post shared this afternoon, H.E. Hun Many noted that today signifies 48 years since his father embarked on a perilous journey to join the national resistance against the genocidal regime. This brave act involved leaving behind his family and risking his life for the nation's salvation.
"To honor this meaningful occasion," he wrote, "I participated in the blood donation campaign under the theme 'Together, We Donate Blood to Save Lives' in Siem Reap province."
This initiative was jointly organised by the Siem Reap provincial administration, the National Blood Transfusion Centre, the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC), and other partners. "This marks my 15th time donating blood," he pointed out.
H.E. Hun Many stressed the critical need for blood, which is essential for patients undergoing surgery, accident victims, and women facing childbirth complications. He highlighted the consistently high and increasing demand for blood nationwide.
"I strongly encourage and appeal to all parents, aunts, uncles, and fellow citizens to join in donating blood to help those in urgent need," he stated. "This is a noble and compassionate act that transcends religious beliefs and brings immense merit. When you donate blood, think of your loved ones - your family members - and imagine if they were the ones in need. What would their cries for help mean to you?"
The Deputy Prime Minister concluded by emphasising that blood donation is not merely a humanitarian act but also a powerful symbol of solidarity and compassion.
