KUALA LUMPUR, Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil has expressed condolences to the family of former Kumpulan Utusan photographer Nor Azlina Jaafar, who died last night.
In a post on Facebook, Fahmi also prayed for the family to remain strong during this challenging time.
“The last time I met her was on April 14 when I presented the HAWANA Fund contributions to her husband, Muhammad Basir Abu Bakar, a former Utusan journalist,” he said.
Nor Azlina, 45, died at Serdang Hospital due to a liver infection. Her remains will be buried at the Muslim cemetery in Batu 10, Cheras today.
The deceased left behind two daughters and a son.
Nor Azlina and her husband were among over 800 former Utusan employees laid off after the company ceased operations in 2019.
To support their family, the couple had to engage in various businesses, including becoming car fragrance agents, operating a burger stall at home and working as car rental agents.
