His Majesty the King to Pay a Week-long Visit to France

His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath NORODOM Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, will pay an official visit to France on Nov. 12-18, 2023, at the invitation of H.E. Emmanuel MACRON, President of the French Republic.

The historic visit is anchored in the spirit of long-standing relations of friendship between Cambodia and France, and follows celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the independence of the Kingdom of Cambodia, underlined a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

His Majesty will be received by H.E. Emmanuel MACRON at the Élysée Presidential Palace for official talks on Nov. 13, and after that, he will grace the Fourth Inter-Governmental Conference for the Safeguarding and Development of Angkor during the 42nd Session of the General Conference of UNESCO on Nov. 15, it pointed out.

The Cambodian monarch will also grant an audience to Madame Audrey AZOULAY, Director-General of UNESCO, in recognition of the organisation's contributions to the safeguarding and preservation of Cambodia's cultural heritage, the source added.

According to the press release, other highlights of His Majesty's programme include a tour of the Château de Fontainebleau, situated in a town on the outskirts of the French capital which is a sister city of Siem Reap, and an opportunity to inspect the archives of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah NORODOM Sihanouk “PREAH BOROM RATANAK KAUDH”.

His Majesty the King will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. SOK Chenda Sophea, and Minister of Culture and Fine Arts H.E. Mrs. PHOEURNG Sackona, as well as other dignitaries and senior officials of the Royal Government of Cambodia.
