HPPK2023: 50,000 VISITORS EXPECTED AT THREE-DAY CARNIVAL IN SABAH

KOTA KINABALU, About 50,000 people are expected to visit the three-day National- Level Hawkers and Petty Traders Carnival (HPPK2023) in Penampang, near here, beginning on Thursday (Dec 7).

Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick said there will be a total of 300 sales booths comprising 50 exhibitors, 30 food trucks, 190 hawkers and petty traders, as well as 14 stalls offering various items such as food and drinks, handicraft and clothing.

He said the MADANI Cooperative Sales, FAMA (Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority) sales and Rahmah Sales will also be held to give an opportunity to visitors to buy their daily necessities at cheaper prices.

“Other activities including a lucky draw, offering various attractive prizes such as electrical goods, vouchers and hampers, as well as ceramah (talks) on entrepreneurship by government agencies, health check-ups and hair-cutting services will also be held,” he said in a statement today.

According to Ewon, several local artistes including Stacy, Akim and Jimmy Palikat will perform in ‘Konsert Aramai Boh’ on Dec 8 at the main stage at Buhavan Square, Penampang.

“Besides this, there will also be a karaoke competition,‘Nyanyian Suara Emas’, offering a cash prize of RM1,000 for the first prize, RM700 (second prize) and RM500 (third prize) together with a trophy and hamper,” he added.
