The Indonesian authorities have dismantled an Ecstasy drug-processing laboratory and arrested two men in Banten province on Thursday.
Police received information regarding the entry of raw materials and equipment for the production of Ecstasy through the Soekarno Hatta International Airport in Tangerang from the customs and tax authorities.
The head of the criminal investigation agency Commissioner General Agus Andrianto said further investigations led to a raid on a two-storey terraced house in Sindang Jaya, Tangerang.
In a statement, he said an inspection inside the house found 9,517 Ecstasy pills, 593 yellow pills, 300 green pills, gelatin, and magnesium weighing 43.7 kilograms.
The laboratory in Tangerang is linked to a previous raid in Semarang, Central Java, said Agus, adding that the authorities are on the lookout for an individual sending Ecstasy-making equipment.
