Malaysian Army Chief General Datuk Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan attended a regional military conference in New Delhi that deliberated on boosting cooperation to tackle security challenges.
The Indo-Pacific Army Chiefs Conference from Sept 25 to 27 was jointly organised by the armies of India and the United States.
Accompanying the Malaysian army chief at the event were Major General Datuk Haji Semaon Haji Marzuki, assistant chief of staff for operations and training, and Major General Datuk Ahmed Abu Bakar, assistant chief of staff for planning and development.
Delegates from 38 countries participated in the conference where ideas and views were exchanged on the regional peace and security situation, including boundary disputes.
The conference sought to promote mutual understanding, dialogue and friendship among the littoral partners, according to an Indian statement.
Its main theme was “Together for Peace: Sustaining Peace and Stability in the Indo-Pacific Region.”
