Phnom penh: The Ministry of Information this morning reaffirmed that no journalists have been arrested in connection with recent tensions along the Cambodian-Thai border, particularly in the case of Prey Chan and Chork Chey villages. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Ministry noted in a press release that it had observed the circulation of false information alleging the arrest of journalists reporting from those villages. 'The Ministry of Information would like to categorically deny such claims and inform the public that this information is false, intended to incite confusion and create unrest regarding the real situation in these two villages,' it underlined. The statement further stressed that neither journalists nor Cambodian citizens have been arrested for covering or reporting on the developments in Prey Chan and Chork Chey, as rumoured. The Ministry urged the public to follow updates on the Cambodian-Thai border situation only from official sources and to refrain from creating or spreading fa ke news.
