KUALA LUMPUR, An e-sports competition will be among the highlights of the National Farmers, Breeders and Fishermen's Day (HPPNK) 2023, which will be held for three days beginning Friday (Nov 10), in Ipoh, Perak.
A joint effort by the National Fishermen's Association (NEKMAT) and the National Farmers' Association (NAFAS), HPPNK 2023 will take place in Dataran Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah.
In a joint statement today, NAFAS and NEKMAT said the competition, which offers a total prize pool of RM10,000, is held to draw more youngsters to the event.
Under the Agro Millenia segment, NAFAS and NEKMAT provide a platform for young people to showcase their talent and foster teamwork when competing in the popular esports game Mobile Legends.
“Champions will take home RM3,000, a trophy and a certificate and daily winners will also receive cash prizes. There will also be a meet-and-greet session with e-sports professional players such as Ikuto, Sir Cloud and Aiman Laphel,” said the statement.
Visitors to HPPNK 2023 will also be able to try out the FIFA 2024 football game on PlayStation 5 for free, in addition to participating in lucky draws featuring up to RM10,000 worth of prizes.
NAFAS, through the Agro Madani segment, will hold sales of agricultural produce and Peladang brand products, including special fertilisers formulated for durian trees and urban gardening kits.
“Those who purchase 10 bags of one-kilogramme special fertiliser will receive an urban gardening kit for free,” according to the statement.
NAFAS said that in the Agro Technology and Innovation segment, visitors will have the chance to learn more about multifunctional machinery that is particularly designed for use in padi fields, oil palm plantations, and agricultural areas.
Meanwhile, NEKMAT, in the Agro Madani segment, will conduct promotions and sales of fishery products at discounted prices exclusively for visitors to HPPNK 2023.
