Preparations for the launch of 2023 National Month and the Fly the Jalur Gemilang (national flag) campaign, which will take place at Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah, Meru Raya this Sunday, have reached more than 90 per cent.
Information Department Communication Service and Community Division director Erwin Khairul Ahmad said the preparation included the installation of tents for booths and guests of honour, and stage.
"The preparations are going smoothly, We will also hold a full rehearsal for the celebrations tomorrow at 9 am, involving various government agencies and departments," he said when met at the venue here today.
Meanwhile, the Information Department (JaPen) along with the State Secretary's office is expecting 10,000 visitors to participate in the 6,600 Langkah Perpaduan (Steps of Unity) programme
So far, over 7,000 people have registered for the programme.
Various interesting events will also be held from July 15, including Jualan Rahmah (Rahmah Sale), police summons payment counter, the Bintang patriotic competition, a nationality quiz, flagging off Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang convoy and more.
The National Day celebration on Aug 31 will be held at Dataran Putrajaya, while the Malaysia Day celebration on Sept 16 will take place in Kuching, Sarawak.
