RECITATION OF ‘QUNUT NAZILAH’ TO BE CONTINUED IN PERAK – JAIPK DIRECTOR

IPOH, The recitation of the ‘Qunut Nazilah’ in mosques and surau throughout the state of Perak as a sign of solidarity with the Palestinian people in Gaza will continue, says Perak Islamic Religious Department (JAIPk) director Harith Fadzilah Abdul Halim.

He said the prayer could be continued for as long as Muslims in Gaza faced threats from the Zionist regime.

"We will continue to pray, we’ll pray a lot, and we have no problem about Qunut Nazilah being recited in every obligatory prayer. In fact, everyone is encouraged to pray more for our friends in Gaza so that Allah protects them," he said.

He was speaking to reporters after attending the Hi-Tea Programme for the Launch of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) for Orphans as well as the Presentation of Donations to the Perak Orphans' Welfare Home at the TAJ International College here, today.

Meanwhile, he said the RM15 million allocation to repair and build new mosques and surau as tabled in the Perak Budget 2024 would focus on dilapidated Muslim houses of worship in the state.

"There are indeed mosques and surau that are dilapidated and their Friday collection is only hundreds of ringgit and those are the places that should be prioritised for repair and renovation, while mosques, where the Friday collection reaches hundreds of thousands of ringgit a month, can give way to the places where it (allocation) more in need," he said.
