SEA Games 2023: Cambodia Holds Medal Conferment Ceremony for Ju-Jitsu Competition

The medal conferment ceremony of Ju-Jitsu competition at the 32nd SEA Games 2023 hosted by Cambodia was held here at Chroy Changvar International Convention and Exhibition Centre this afternoon.

Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defence, and President of the Cambodian SEA Games-ASEAN Para Games Organising Committees (CAMSOC-CAMAPGOC) presided over the event.

Cambodia earned the first goal medal at the SEA Games 2023 by Kongmona Mithora and Touch Pikada in Men’s Duo while the Philippines and Vietnam got silver medal.

Cambodia also won silver medals both for Women’s Duo and Ne-Waza GI-52 kg events.

At Women’s Duo, Thailand received goal medal when Vietnam got bronze medal.

For Ne-Waza GI-52 kg event, the Philippines clinched a goal medal after Filipino fighter managed to defeat Cambodian fighter Khan Jessa who knocked her three counterparts from Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand in the same subject earlier. Vietnam and Thailand got the same bronze medals.

According to Mr. Sean Sopheak, Secretary General of Jiu-Jitsu Federation of Cambodia, there are seven counties participating in Jiu-Jitsu competition, with over 80 athletes.
