Seven new volunteers arrived in Cambodia early this week under the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Volunteer Programme.
The new volunteers have started their Local Training (Khmer language, local adaptation, safety and culture) for six weeks, KOICA Cambodia Office pointed out.
After the training, it continued, they will be dispatched to Kandal, Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, and Kampong Thom provinces in the fields of Korean language education, computer education, physical therapy, electricity, and early childhood education.
The volunteers will contribute to the human capital development in Cambodia as well as cultural exchange between both countries, Cambodia-Korea, the source stressed.
KOICA has dispatched professional Korean volunteers to Cambodia to share their expertise, knowledge and experiences in order to improve the quality of life of the country and strengthen partnership and mutual understanding since 2003. As of October 2022, KOICA has dispatched 802 volunteers to Cambodia. The volunteers have performed their activities with at least 25 ministries and its subnational across the country on various fields.
