The Department of Federal Territories (JWP) is calling upon all government agencies within the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan to join hands in commemorating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Federal Territory next year.

JWP Director-General Datuk Seri Rosida Jaafar said this significant milestone promises to be a momentous occasion, celebrating half a century of growth, development, and unity.

“JWP has planned a series of exciting and inclusive programs to mark this historic occasion, and we expect the first programme to kick off on Oct 1.

“The celebration is expected to be a year-long extravaganza that will bring communities closer together and showcase the unique identity of each Federal Territory,” she said to a group of Labuan media fraternity at Menara Seri Wilayah here today.

She said the JWP aims to create an inclusive and memorable celebration that brings together residents, government agencies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and stakeholders.

“By encouraging participation from all corners of the Federal Territories, this 50th anniversary celebration promises to be a reflection of unity, diversity, and progress,” Rosida said.

She said the people of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan could look forward to a year filled with excitement, cultural exchange, and community building as they join hands to celebrate the remarkable journey of the Federal Territories over the past five decades.
