Cambodia has grabbed a total of 71 medals – 33 gold, 29 silver and 9 bronze – in 12 sports at the 20th World Police and Fire Games 2023 in Winnipeg, Canada.
Of the medals, 15 were grabbed in Swimming, 12 in Wrestling, 11 in Wrist Wrestling, 8 in Karate, 8 in Jiu-Jitsu, 5 in Table Tennis, 5 in Judo, 2 in Badminton, 2 in Weightlifting’s Bench Press, 1 in Weightlifting’s Push Pull Lifting, 1 in Indoor Volleyball, and 1 in Beach Volleyball.
Taking Place from July 28 to Aug. 6, the World Police and Fire Games 2023 attracted athletes representing law enforcement, firefighters and police officers from more than 70 countries across the world to compete in 63 sports.
Cambodia dispatched a delegation of 49 members, including delegates, coaches and athletes to contest in 76 events of 13 sports at the biennial games.
The Cambodian delegation led by H.E. Sar Sith, Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Interior, will return home on Aug. 9 at 11 am. A press conference will be held upon their arrival, followed by a congratulatory procession on main streets, from Phnom Penh International Airport to the National Olympic Stadium by crossing the Independence Monument roundabout.
